Soooooooooo.....

I think most of fandom had sort of guessed the truth with all the hints and stuff, and it was sort of satisfying.  OMG Nelson!  And really you knew all along about Alex.  Keats was just terrifying!  James May did an amazing job, how he started off so likeable and then....

I'm left with a little heartache for Gene, on his own to start all over, but without a team this time and with the reassurance that Jim will be back.  Also, the new one, like the worst possible crossover of Alex and Sam?  Sounds like a bit of a tosser lol, bt I guss they probably both did to Gene inthe beginning and we're seeing them from Gene's point of view by then.

That all being said, I have to say I was holding my breath for Sam to be sitting in Gene's office at his desk drinking a scotch with one poured for Gene when they cut to him walking back into the station.  I don't care how little sense it'd make, thats kind of always going to be the ending in my head :)

Oh and lolz at Bowie being heaven and 'Club Tropicana' by Wham being Keat's favourite song, so is George Michael is hell?

All in all a bit predicatable, but glad there's a semi-open ending for fandom to sink it's teeth into!!!

I'm not one for guessing the end to things, so it took me totally by surprise.

I liked how it was done though, and it all fit and made sense. I was sad in a way that Alex was actually dead because of her daughter, and I was very sad for Gene being left behind, all alone like that. It would have been a perfect touch to have Sam there waiting for him, if only for a 'visit', but the 'new' DI showing up (loved the reference to the iPhone) was great.
