It was two days until the students returned to the school and Harry was desperately trying to catch up on the marking he’d forgone so far in lieu of lazing around and feeling sorry for himself.

Harry had yet to hear from Ginny, and wondered if he even would. Would she just flee back to Egypt to her apparent new lover? The thought didn’t bother Harry too much, and only slightly because he was worried for the children.

The rumbling of his stomach prompted him to glance at the clock. It was past time for lunch and he had already skipped breakfast. He had needed to get a start on his marking. And perhaps avoid any questions about Ron’s visit last night.

He resigned himself to going hungry, all that was left in his little kitchen was coffee and firewhiskey, and tried to focus back on the stack of essays in front of him.

A knock on the door disturbed him not too much later, and he glanced up as the door handle turned and a tray floated through the widening gap between door and frame. Followed by a wand bearing Draco Malfoy.

“Good afternoon,” he said, setting the tray down on a space on the table Harry was sitting at.

“Always knew you secretly aspired to be a house-elf,” Harry said as he pulled a bit of lettuce out of the sandwich before him and chewed on it.

Draco snorted, “Oh yes, you’ve found me out now Potter. All that kicking of and verbal abuse toward house-elves was just a way of me exerting my overwhelming jealously over their enviable lifestyle.” Harry grinned. “You didn’t come down for breakfast and it seemed as if you were forgoing lunch as well. I thought it best to save you from malnourishment, as I assumed your cupboards would be bare of food.”

“You assumed correctly,” Harry answered through a mouthful of chicken salad sandwich. “Thanks,” he added once he’d finished the first half.

“So who were you avoiding and why?” Draco asked, slouching down in his chair and stretching his legs out underneath the table. Harry picked up the other half of the sandwich and took a large bite in response.

“Does it have something to do with yours and Weasley’s impromptu heart-to-heart yesterday evening?” he asked. Harry continued chewing; Draco rolled his eyes and made a show of pouring himself a glass of pumpkin juice from the jug on the tray.

“It was nothing, I had a lot of marking to do and wanted to get a head start,” Harry replied eventually.

“And Weasley?” Draco asked.

“We talked about Ginny,” he said honestly.

“What else?” Draco eyed him suspiciously.

“I didn’t particularly feel like talking to everyone this morning, but I’m fine,” Harry told him. “Honestly,” he added with a kick to Draco’s leg.

“Harry come on, I’m offering to listen. How often is that going to happen?” Draco prompted.

Harry dropped the sandwich back on the plate and pushed away from the table; standing and walking to the other side of the room, coming to a stop in front of the fireplace.

“Fine,” Draco quickly covered any hurt response with a mask of nonchalance as he stood up.

“It’s just, you’re not exactly the best person for me to talk to about this,” Harry bit out as Draco approached the door. Draco paused, rolled his eyes at himself and walked to where Harry was standing.

“Talk to about what?”

“If I say it out loud its real, and then I can-” he raised a shaky hand toward Draco, “I mean technically it’d be okay if I wanted-”

Draco took in sharp breath as Harry’s fingers grazed his jaw. He pushed down the surge of what could have been hope and took a step forward. Harry let his hand go with the movement, resting on Draco’s neck, fingertips grazing the hair at the back of his neck.

“Tell me,” Draco murmured. Harry closed his eyes as Draco slid an arm around his waist and pulled him in.

“She’s been with someone else,” he breathed, head leaning forward, brow touching Draco’s.

“Ginny cheated on you?” Draco asked sounding far to calm to Harry, whose heart felt like it was trying to beat its way out of his chest and into Draco’s.

“Yes.”

“It’s over?”

Harry huffed out a laugh, “If she ever talks to me herself.” He let his eyes fall open and look into Draco’s considering grey ones.

“If she hasn’t by now she’s not going to,” he told Harry. “You have to do something.”

Harry sighed, “I know.” And he did, he had known from the moment Ron told him that the ball was in his court, Ginny would never initiate a split not actively anyway. “I just-”

“I know, Harry.”

“The children, I don’t know how to tell them,” he admitted.

“They’ll understand Harry. And children are tough; they can take more than you think.” Draco quirked a sad smile, “We should know.”

“Yeah,” Harry smiled back. Draco looked at him for a few moments more before starting to retrieve his arm and taking a small step back. “Wait.”

Draco frowned at him and Merlin that wasn’t right, Harry had to get rid of that didn’t he? Thoughts rushed from his head leaving only the fact that Draco was here, with him; his fingertips still resting on Harry’s waist. Four warm points of contact that Harry couldn’t loose right now.

He closed the distance between their bodies and their lips in one movement. Warm lips parted against his in shock and that was all the invitation Harry needed and he was drinking Draco in like a drowning man. Draco didn’t move for a moment but Harry persevered, sucking Draco’s lower lip between his own and grazing it with his teeth. He smiled into the kiss as Draco groaned low in the back of his throat and wrapped both his arms round Harry’s waist, pulling him closer.

It wasn’t close enough, was Harry’s only thought as this need, this want like nothing he had ever felt burned through him. Closer, he needed Draco closer. He moaned as Draco pushed against him, touching from chest to knee and stumbled as Draco guided him backwards; fell back against the wall Draco had guided them to.

Harry gasped when Draco parted his thighs with one of his own, ground down onto it with a moan Draco caught with his mouth before he moved away to press wet sucking kisses to Harry’s neck. Harry clawed at Draco’s back, wishing his nails were running across skin rather than fabric but unable to stop, not able to even think.

“Draco,” Harry moaned as Draco’s teeth grazed just behind his ear. Draco started, his movements slowed.

“Shit,” he cursed, resting his head in the crook of his neck.

Harry arched his back and gripped Draco’s shoulders tightly. “What-” he panted, “What’s wrong?”

“You’re going to regret this, Harry,” Draco said tightly, his voice betraying the fact he was holding on to his restraint by his fingernails.

“I really don’t think so,” Harry huffed, closing his eyes and letting his head hit the wall behind him as his hips rolled against Draco’s eliciting low groans from both of them.

“Not the act you prat, the timing,” Draco breathed.

Harry closed his eyes and tried to get his breathing under control. Draco was probably right, if he did this now, before he talked to Ginny, or their children he wouldn’t be any better than she was.

He laughed breathily.

“What’s so funny?” Draco asked him, pulling away and smoothing his robes down.

“Out of the two of us, who would’ve thought you’d be the responsible one?” he asked. He opened his eyes to meet the smiling ones of Draco Malfoy.

“Me for one,” he answered with a mock-superior smirk. Harry snorted as Draco laughed.

Rereading the whole story again I love it even more now!
Your story feeds my hate for Ginny nicely and my love for Draco. Looking forward to more.
How will the children react? Will Ginny have to say anything for herself?
I hope you have a lot more chapters planned!
