Verdict?
Torchwood: Out of the Rain

So this is definitely one of my faves from the series so far.  I loved the Owen stories, but apart from that it was nice to see a story that didn't revolve around Gwen or Jack, but around the story itself.  If that makes any sense...

As always, its nice to see Jack from his past moments, and that he shared a little bit (with Ianto :)) is good too, even if he didn't tell us who ordered him to join a travelling circus?? I mean obviously to track down the creepy people snatching circus, but unless he joined that one specifically, how was he going to find anything about them out? Maybe his boss was getting fed up with him and just needed an excuse? If so, he chose a lame one :)

And a semi-Ianto episode :) Even if he did seem to be inordinately upset over everything that happened.  I mean he was like crying at the end, and I mean I know, kid almost dying and saved, teary moment, but all the other crap they see and he tears up over that? And what was with him saying he knew the psychiatric place and then looking shifty? Working theory: Ianto's dad loved the cinema so much he ate a roll of film, went crazy from toxic shock and ended up in the very psychiatric hospital Ianto and Jack visited.  No? Maybe not...

Also, how many times is the fact that Owen's dead going to keep him from being.... well not killed obviously, but get him out of trouble.  I mean sure he's dead, but he's clearly still walking and talking and able to shoot you.  Surely the bad guys would notice and at least try to take him down??

But all in all, I'd give this ep an A-, afterall people coming out of the cinema screen is always a good plot device....

I did think the whole "people coming out of a movie" thing was a big cheesy but then again it's one of those things they just have to do but hadn't yet.

I agree with you about Ianto.. I was a bit puzzled as to why he was crying... he didn't try when Jack died or Owen (not that I wold expect tears of Owen).

I love it when they tell us little bits about Jacks past.

All in all not a bad ep! I really did care about the people at the end I wanted them all to live and I was really sad when they didn't. I'm normally not that attached to people in Torchwood cos you always know what the death rate it.

*runs of to find some more Torchwood avs*
