Slipped and twisted my knee on the way home from work yesterday :(  I have crap knees anyway (hypermobile joints or something, which is something kids have and usually grow out of) but it just gave, luckily i didnt fall on my arse or anything but it was a close call.  I get why they don't grit roads that aren't main roads, but still, mine isnt some of the beaten track road, its kind of the entry road to a big block of houses, only way in or out and its completel iced over, like inches thick.

Anyway through the pain I managed to call in to work and say there was no way I was risking it again, I'd pick up emails from home, don't think they were happy but oh well, I work my guts out every other day!

So a good day to catch up on fic?  Settle in with a long fic?  No, because I'm too lazy to go on the hunt for something good.  Instead I slept late, watched bit of tv, played Sims 3 World Adventures, then introduced Life on Mars to my sister.  All in all not a wasted day, but I miss lj, I appear to be too lazy to find fic gems like I used to though, I'll just have to rely on [livejournal.com profile] hils and [livejournal.com profile] marguerite_26 and their wonderul reccing talents.  What I'll do for my other fandoms I don't know... *sigh*

I used to be too lazy for uni because I was always on lj, now I'm too lazy for lj because I'm always at work... I do not like this turn of events...

Despite still recovering from being horribly ill (AGAIN FFS!), I feel like writing Christmas fic. Any prompts?

Shows I'm into atm are Stargate Atlantis, Supernatural, Ashes to Ashes, Due South, Life on Mars, The OC, Merlin and Sports Night, so I feel I could write for them as character voices are floating around my consciousness :)

Anyone??

(nothing too, like, happy people, I like to crush characters souls)

Anyone interested in beta-ing a Life on Mars fic?  Entitled  '5 Crazy People That Gene Hunt Met (Much To His Horror) and one with whom he was reunited'  Or something along those lines!

It's a response to a prompt [personal profile] wickednotevil gave me AGES ago and is kind of multifandom as well.  Anyone?  Its about 2000 words thus far and I've done 3 of the 5.

I have a Dreamwidth invite code if anyone wants it.

I am also very very ill :( But this time laying around doing nothing has allowed me to ponder the fic prompt [livejournal.com profile] wickednotevil gave me, and i now have a few ideas :) Hopefully I'll start tommorrow, barring any more migraines, nausea or general crappy-feeling-ness

So I finally got a new laptop! *dances*

HOWEVER, apparently whilst i was backing up all my bookmarks it failed to copy over my file full of links to Supernatual and Life on Mars rec lists.  Though it kept SGA, Smallville, Trek and Harry Potter.  I'm pretty sure i also had a folder for Due South and Sports Night but i can't really remember (yes i know i look at it almost everyday, how i can forget i dont know)

Soooo, can anyone help me? I was only halfway through the first of the Supernatural lists and i had several (by who i can't remember!)  Does anyone have any good rec lists and/or recs they could give me links to?

So I've officially FINISHED UNIVERSITY! Is this a good or bad thing? Only time will tell I guess... Just spent a while looking up PGCE courses.  What I really want to do is an MA, but I can't afford that because I wouldn't get any funding....

Anywho! I went shopping to reward myself for finishing, but alas bought nothing.  So I've had the page for the complete series of buffy open on my browser for an hour or so... But its so much money, there could be twenty series but £100 is still a lot of money.  I'm, kicking myself though because a few months back they were £50 and i didnt get them, I got Life on Mars instead, which hello good decision.  But they are the same price now as they were then and I DONT KNOW WHAT TO DO!  If I wait will they go up more?  Go down again? HELP?!

I bought Life on Mars DVDs

I fail

They must be added to my pile of SGA fandemonium books to be read after uni has finished (which is only 3 months, OMG *flails*)

I may have also purchased Ashes to Ashes...

No I did not just post less than an hour ago... honest....

Anywho, randomness but LIST OF DVDS I COVET IN AN INNAPROPRIATE MANNER:
(1) Life On Mars - because I just cant hack this watch one episode a week thing, I cant wait that long people! Also, I really really want to watch the opening episode again, with the music and Sam and the music and Sam... I think this show has brought out a scary but kind of awesome love for 70s music in me :)

(2) Buffy - just because (also its less than £50 for the entire series on Amazon at the mo)

(3) MERLIN! Because I keep hearing fantastical things about the behind the scenes, and I've forgotten its amazingness, I mean someone asked me the other day what was better Merlin or Demons and I actually umm'd and aah'd for a moment because I just couldnt remember.  However, its a bit pricey for my empty pockets at the moment so I will have to suffer along :(

Also, random DVD buying question, if the individual series/or volumes are cheaper together than the boxset would you still buy the boxset?  I wouldnt because I'm all about the penny pinching, but do people do that? I dle curiousity

And thats all for this evening, honestly, I shall post no more, however thats mainly because I'll be unconscious for the next six hours...

I exhausted all the [livejournal.com profile] crack_van  recs for Life on Mars fic and the High School Musical tag caught my eye, i'd read all but one already but followed some links and found the best HSM fic ever :)

Happenstance by [livejournal.com profile] alethialia   Chad/Ryan slash, future college fic, made of win :)

Okay so, sor far [livejournal.com profile] wickednotevil  has helped me create plot bunnies for a Life on Mars/due South fusion (or possibly crossover because who can resist the idea of Benton Fraser and Gene Hunt meeting eachother?? *laughs manically*)

And additionally a Demons/Life on Mars crossover, where Luke may or may not become traumatised/jealous/excited by Galvin's reunion with a confused Sam...

So what else can LoM be crossed over with?? The wackier the better :)  The craziest/most impossible I'm thinking is HSM, cant even think where to begin with that...
